Our New Project is to be Part of a Scientific Study

Posted on 07/02/2016

We are delighted to announce that the effects of our new project, a living wall, to be installed in a hospital waiting in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, will be studied by academics from Trent and Carleton Universities’ departments of Psychology.

Dr. Elizabeth Nisbet, Professor of Psychology at Trent University in Peterborough and Dr. John Zelenski, Professor of Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa are joint authors of a number of papers investigating the concept of nature relatedness and its links with health, well-being (happiness), and environmentally sustainable behaviour.

Since our project is the first installation of its kind in a waiting room in any Canadian hospital, Drs. Nisbet and Zelenski believe that the study of such an “indoor nature” project in a Canadian hospital has unique potential in terms of empirical research in this area.

Details of the exact process of the research are yet to be determined, but we’ll keep you posted.
